Young Talents from Brantford Win Big in International Composition Festival

Four local Brantford children are celebrated for recent wins in the Music for Young Children International Composition Festival. With over 3,900 students from five countries participating, 23 children from MYC Brantford placed in this year’s competition. The teacher emphasized that they teach a solid music education foundation, tools, and skills for creative self-expression. She loves passing on her composing knowledge to her students and seeing their excitement in creating music. She has taught for 41 years and found the MYC approach, tailored for children, a humbling experience.

Elberta Farms Country Market has become a beloved destination in Brant County over the past 50 years. Founded in 1967 by Joe and Elizabeth Berta, the farm started with a simple roadside vegetable stand. Today, Andrew, Steve, Mike Berta, and their mother, Elizabeth, continue this tradition. Andrew fondly recalls their childhood filled with farm work, which instilled a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic. The farm offers various locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and plants, supporting other local farms. Open year-round, Elberta Farms also features a petting zoo, making it a perfect spot for families.

Elberta Farms' success is not just about delivering high-quality, fresh local products; it's about community and family legacy. Elizabeth Berta, affectionately known as 'mom' by many customers, embodies this connection.

🤣 Starting Friday, May 31, 2024, families can visit the City of Brantford’s Earl Haig Family Fun Park on weekends to cool off and enjoy various activities. From Friday, June 21, 2024, until Monday, September 2, 2024, the park will be open daily, including holidays. Visitors can look forward to attractions such as a lazy river ride, a leisure pool and water slide, a splash pad, mini-golf, beach volleyball, a snack shack, and more!
