Brantford Goes All Out in Celebration of Canada’s 157th Birthday 🇨🇦

“It’s what Canada Day and Canada is all about,” Chua said. “We came to Canada 30 years ago from the Philippines and have been living in Brantford for 21 years. “We’ve built a good life for ourselves and raised a family.”

It’s a new chapter for a New Library and School.

The Library CEO and Board Chair were honored to participate in the official groundbreaking for a shared facility, along with partners from the Grand Erie District School Board and the City of Brantford. The new building will be located at the corner of Shellard Lane and Strickland Avenue, and it will include an elementary school, daycare, recreation centre, and public library. The new library branch will be 13,500 square feet (around double the size of St. Paul!) and will also serve as the school library.

Costco Is Starting to Take Shape

Goldfox Studios

Costco, the retail giant known for its bulk offerings and competitive pricing, is rapidly rising from the dirt and making swift progress in Brantford. The new store is well underway, with construction crews working diligently to meet the anticipated opening date. As the framework takes shape and the finishing touches are applied, excitement within the community is growing. This new development promises to bring a wide variety of products to Brantford and the renowned Costco membership experience, offering significant savings and unique benefits to local residents.

The arrival of Costco in Brantford is set to provide a substantial boost to the local economy. Once the store opens, the new store will create numerous job opportunities, ranging from construction and maintenance roles during the building phase to long-term positions in retail, management, and customer service. Additionally, Costco is expected to attract more shoppers to the area, benefiting neighboring businesses and fostering a vibrant commercial environment. The community stands to gain from the convenience of having a major retailer close by and from the enhanced economic activity that such a significant addition brings.

“If zombies ever do attack just go to Costco. They have walls, years of food and supplies, and zombies can’t get in without a Costco membership.
